Sepehr Pooyan Makran Oil and Gas Refinery Company was established in Chabahar Azad Zone in 2015 after extensive studies and numerous meetings with oil industry experts and reviewing the activities of numerous refineries in different countries. Chabahar was the best place to build this huge refinery due to its proximity to open water.

Extraction of Petroleum
Oil extraction is a set of operations during which crude oil is taken out of the ground in different ways in order to extract and exploit it. Today, geologists have succeeded in identifying oil fields by using seismic devices, and drilling groups provide the conditions for starting the activity of oil extraction groups and installing their special tools by drilling oil wells.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas
Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG is one of the main products of Sepehr Pouyan Refinery. This combustible gas is obtained from a mixture of propane and butane. Applications of LPG include:

With great pleasure and pride, the huge project of Sepehr Pouyan Oil and Gas Refinery in Makran in the strategic free zone of Chabahar has started. Chabahar, with its special location in the north-south corridor and easy access to open waters, is actually the gateway of dear Iran to the world markets. The development of the infrastructure of this area as well as Makran beaches can create a new perspective in the economic and commercial field for the country.
Sepehr Pouyan Refinery will be a big step in creating employment and improving the livelihood of the people of Sistan and Baluchistan region. By taking advantage of the local labor force and investing in additional infrastructure, this project can become the basis for a new development in this area.
The products of this refinery will play a key role in providing energy to the country and supporting various industries. The production of clean petroleum products, such as Euro gasoline, Euro diesel, and airplane fuel, not only meets domestic needs, but will also be the basis for exports and the provision of new foreign exchange sources for the country.
In this national plan, special attention has been paid to preserving the environment. By using environmentally friendly technologies and reducing emissions to standard levels, Sepehr Pouyan Refinery can be considered as a model of a sustainable project in Iran's oil industry.
